Rowley’s promotion comes after serving as president and chief operating officer at the firm, a position he reportedly stepped into earlier this year. Sources indicate that Rowley first joined Sundt in 1998 as a field engineer in what was then known as the Heavy Civil Group, now called the Transportation Group., according to market insights

According to reports, Rowley held numerous positions across the organization during his 25-year tenure, including roles in business development, preconstruction, and operations before advancing to senior vice president of the Transportation Group. The contractor stated that Rowley’s leadership of the Industrial Group beginning in 2022 resulted in the division tripling in volume to over $1.3 billion in annual revenue in less than three years.

Analysts suggest that Rowley played a crucial role in Sundt’s transformation from a regionally focused contractor to a firm with national reach.
